Medium: oils, pastel, coloured pencil, screen prints and photography
Style: no set style
I work mainly in oils and pastel but also like to experiment with different mediums and enjoy the process of printmaking and more contemporary art. My main focus is with portraits both human and animals. I enjoy the play of light and shadow that develops and defines the character of the subject.
Experience: Access to Higher Education Diploma – Art and Design – University of Creative Arts 2010 plus various art courses. Solo exhibition at Maidstone Museum, Kent. Work accepted at various exhibitions including United Society of Artists, Cork Street, London and The Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent.
Influence: I love to look at work that encompasses colour, space and movement of light whether in painting, glass, sculpture or photography. It inspires an emotion in me that I can hopefully take away and energises me to take action on a personal level.

Due to a change in my career I decided, in 2010, to pursue my interest in the arts. I was encouraged by my tutor to apply for an Access To Higher Education Diploma in Art and Design with the University of Creative Arts in Maidstone, Kent. I specifically wanted to be able to have the opportunity to work in different mediums and work alongside other students to gain further knowledge and to unlock my own creativity. Working in this creative atmosphere has given me the confidence to progress my work and to join with others in exhibiting my work. With my photography I am always drawn to the abstract and quirky side of the ordinary objects and buildings around us. Looking for different shapes, colours and angles that are often missed by the casual glance of a passer by. I try and engage the audience and make them think about what they are really seeing.
